About Play Away Guitars
We believe that we are unique, we only sell instruments that are:

-
Exceptionally portable.
-
Can be played anywhere, anytime and often 'silently'.
-
Do not compromise on quality or playability.
-
Compact, lightweight and comfortable to hold and play (a benefit to all of us) but superb if you can't manage a full size, full weight instrument - for any reason.
-
Are a pleasure to look at and to own.
In fact instruments that are perfect on a boat, plane, caravan, office, studio or on stage – and which can be used without fear of disrupting others – a hotel, flat, bedsit, we could go on.
Our products have the quality, flexibility and portability to allow all this and more. In short we would simply sum up by saying that we are specialists in high quality and innovative 'guitars that go with you'.

Here is our stand at the Boogaloo Blues Festival at the Farnham Maltings |

We are based in Brighton & Hove about an hour south of London and around 30 minutes from Gatwick by car or by train. You will also find us at shows and exhibitions and smaller music festivals and events in Southern England and sometimes much further afield.
Of course we can't be everywhere and so we will constantly update this website with the best products and ideas to help you find the best solutions for your own needs.
We are very proud of our products and we are equally committed to providing you with the very highest level of service.
We are members of the Music Industries Association (MIA) and we fully support and endorse their mission of "creating and encouraging music making". There is no doubt that, in addition to being usable anywhere, these wonderful "travel" instruments also often allow both new and very experienced musicians pleasurable access to a guitar when a more "traditional" instrument may be or may have become, a barrier.
We are located about an hour from London in Brighton & Hove, close to the town centre and famous sea front and we are easy to find with ample free parking. You are very welcome to come and see us and try our products for yourself. Our hours of business are indicative only and we can usually arrange to welcome you at most times - but please do phone before travelling so that not only can we arrange to have the guitar(s) you want to try brought from stock to the showroom, but also to be sure that we will actually be there to welcome you!
We are 5 minutes walk from our local train station and buses stop outside too - so a car is not required!
We look forward to welcoming you (but telephone first please). Click here for a location map courtesy of Google Maps and see our Contact Us section for typical business hours and a rail map.
